That's all well and good if you know what an 'Elf on the Shelf' is, but many of you might be confused about this newfangled holiday trend that has emerged in the past 15 years. An Elf on the Shelf is an elf doll designed to "spy" on kids. He moves around every night, watches the kids in the home, and reports their good and bad deeds to Santa. He allegedly loses his magic if the kids touch the doll. If you don't love how surveillance-heavy the holiday season has gotten recently, these animal memes won't watch you in your sleep.
